Use cases
- Cross-border ecommerce with post-purchase support in local language
- SaaS products with global users and English-speaking support team
- Diaspora customers writing in non-default storefront language
- Arabic RTL conversations with localized widget chrome
How translation fits with workflows
API workflows for order lookup, tracking, and refunds run the same regardless of visitor language. Translation localizes the customer-facing reply — not the backend integration.
Visitor asks in French
Intent routes to order workflow; reply localized to French with tracking data.
Agent replies in English
Visitor sees localized message when live translation is enabled.
Agent experience
Agents see visitor locale, translated thread content, and originals where needed. Preferred language setting localizes dashboard chrome independently of customer locale.
KB strategy for multilingual deflection
- Index policy pages per locale for best RAG quality
- Use English fallback only when locale corpus is intentionally thin
- Review bad-translation feedback queue in Settings → General
- Escalate when confidence is low despite translation
Live chat translation vs browser translate plugins
Browser translate plugins
Break widget UX, no KB grounding, no workflow or ticket context.
Zynli live translation
Integrated with RAG, workflows, handoff, and agent inbox in one platform.
AI resolves most issues. Agents handle the rest.
When automation can't resolve an issue — damaged goods, billing disputes, or policy exceptions — escalate to a human agent with full thread history and optional ticket creation.
- Low-confidence answers trigger handoff automatically
- Agents see chat history, citations, and workflow run logs
- Escalations become numbered tickets on your kanban board
- Customers track progress via magic-link portal

Frequently asked questions
Which plans include live translation?
Starter ($49/mo) and above with the live_translation entitlement. Free includes widget UI locales without live translation metering.
How many languages are supported?
11 locales: en, es, fr, de, pt, it, nl, pl, ja, zh, ar. Not an open-ended multilingual list.
Does Arabic use RTL layout?
Yes. Widget conversation layout switches to right-to-left for Arabic locale.
What KB setup is required?
Tag sources by locale for best results. English-only KB still works with classify-then-translate but validate answer quality per language.
Can humans take over mid-translation?
Yes. Human handoff preserves full thread including originals and translation metadata.
